About David S.
David S. Genser built his legal foundation in New York. He earned a B.A. from Hofstra University in 1964 and completed his J.D. at New York Law School in 1968. Those formative years placed him in the state’s legal community at a time of change. They also set the course for a long career practicing law in New York.
After law school he entered private practice. He is a partner at Genser Dubow Genser & Cona, a firm that carries the family name. His role as partner has tied him to the firm’s work and clients for many years. Colleagues and clients have relied on the continuity his presence provides inside the firm’s offices.
Mr. Genser has maintained an active license and remains a member of the New York State Bar. He continued to represent clients through shifts in the market and in law over the decades. He trained in the mid-20th century legal environment and adapted as statutes, procedure and practice evolved.
Throughout his career he has worked within the structures of private practice. That has involved the routine tasks of managing client matters, advising on legal strategy, and participating in firm governance. He has also supervised associates and coordinated with other attorneys at his firm on complex files. His work has required both courtroom preparation and attention to transactional detail when matters demanded it.
Outside the office he has been part of the professional community that New York’s bar associations create. Membership in the New York State Bar has kept him connected to continuing legal education and the ethical standards that govern practice in the state.
Today he continues his practice at Genser Dubow Genser & Cona. He works on the matters the firm handles and remains active in the legal community in New York.
