About David
David Pourshalimi built his legal foundation in Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2013 with a B.A. in History. He then earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2016, completing concentrations in Criminal Justice, Civil Litigation and Trial Advocacy.
His early years in law were hands-on. While in law school he served as a legal extern at Panish Shea & Boyle and at the Law Office of Michael Waddington. He worked as a law clerk and certified law clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. Those roles placed him in public-sector work during the same period he took on litigation assistant duties at West Coast Trial Lawyers, APC.
After law school he joined the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office as a deputy city lawyer in 2016. The following year he moved into private practice and became a partner at Perlmutter & Pourshalimi, Lawyers at Law. That firm role followed a string of clerkships and externships that gave him exposure to courtroom procedure, civil filings and municipal practice.
At Loyola he was active beyond the classroom. He served as president of the American Constitution Society and held leadership roles in the Jewish Law Students Association, where he was vice president before serving as president. He also coached the Young Lawyers Mock Trial Program and taught in the Juvenile Rights Project as a civil rights instructor. Those activities reflect a background in trial training and student leadership.
He has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star. The designation appears on his record and aligns with his early-career trajectory from clerkships into a partnership role.
Pourshalimi’s practice centers on litigation. He maintains a California license and works from Perlmutter & Pourshalimi, Lawyers at Law, where he has been a partner since 2017. He handles civil litigation and trial matters in California.
