About David P.

David P. McCormack earned his law degree from Boston University School of Law in 2003 after completing a bachelor’s degree at Providence College in 2000. He entered the legal profession following formal study in New England. His academic record places him among a generation of lawyers who trained at regional schools before beginning practice in Massachusetts.

He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Early in his career he developed courtroom experience in state tribunals and federal proceedings. Over time he broadened that work into more complex matters that required appearances at multiple levels of the court system.

McCormack serves as a principal at Sugarman & Sugarman, P.C., a role that combines case work with firm leadership responsibilities. In that capacity he manages litigation files, prepares pleadings, and conducts courtroom work on behalf of clients. Colleagues describe his approach as straightforward. He tends to favor clear written arguments and careful preparation for hearings and trials.

He belongs to several professional associations that reflect an interest in trial practice and professional engagement. His memberships include the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers, the American Association for Justice, and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Those affiliations provide him with continuing legal education opportunities and forums for exchanging practice strategies with other litigators.

Clients and peers see him as an attorney who combines courtroom experience with day-to-day case management. He continues to accept matters that require appearances in both state court and federal court. He is currently principal at Sugarman & Sugarman, P.C., and his practice focuses on litigation matters in Massachusetts state courts and in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
