About David N.
David N. DeFoore moved from accounting into law. He earned a B.B.A. in accounting from Texas A&M University in 1999 and completed his J.D. at Texas Tech University School of Law in 2002. Those academic years left him comfortable with numbers and legal doctrine. They also shaped how he approaches client problems: careful, methodical and grounded in document and financial detail.
Immediately after law school he entered private practice. In 2003 he joined Wagstaff Law Office as an associate partner. There he worked on a variety of matters and took on responsibilities that required both legal analysis and client contact. The role at Wagstaff provided courtroom exposure and a chance to handle transactions and disputes for local businesses and individuals.
Two years later he struck out on his own. In 2005 he established his solo office, operating under the name David N. DeFoore, Lawyer at Law. Running a small practice meant shifting between courtroom work, drafting agreements, counseling clients and overseeing firm administration. It also meant being the primary point of contact for every client and taking responsibility for decision-making in each matter.
DeFoore is licensed to practice in Texas. He holds current membership in professional associations relevant to practicing lawyers. His training in accounting and law informs how he evaluates records and prepares legal strategies. That combination can be especially useful when a case turns on financial documents, valuation questions or complex transactions.
Over the years his work has remained local to Texas, shaped by the needs of clients in the region. He has balanced litigation tasks with transactional responsibilities, adjusting to the practical demands of a solo practice. Today he continues to operate his law office in Texas, advising and representing clients on matters that draw on both his accounting background and legal training. His current practice concentrates on serving clients in Texas through his office, David N. DeFoore, Lawyer at Law.
