About David M.
David M. White earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 2002 and completed his Juris Doctor at Texas Tech University School of Law in 2006. Those years shaped his trajectory into the Texas legal community. He returned to West Texas repeatedly over the next decade, building a practice that reflects both local ties and courtroom experience.
After law school he entered practice in Texas. Over time he moved from associate work to running his own firm. In 2010 he opened The Law Offices of David M. White and listed Texas as his jurisdiction of practice. The move to firm owner gave him day-to-day responsibility for case strategy, client intake and courtroom preparation.
As an owner-operator he manages a broad docket. Much of his work has involved criminal defense matters. He also handles related proceedings that arise in state courts. His courtroom experience includes pretrial hearings, plea negotiations and trials. He represents clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges, and he regularly appears in local and regional courts across Texas.
White’s approach to cases blends everyday litigation tasks with occasional longer-term motions practice. He prepares pleadings, argues suppression motions, and navigates jury selection and trial strategy. He also works on sentencing advocacy and post-conviction issues when those matters arise. Colleagues describe him as someone who prefers practical solutions and clear explanations for clients, rather than legalese.
He is active in professional organizations. He maintains membership in the State Bar of Texas and belongs to the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Locally he holds a leadership role as President Elect of the Abilene Young Lawyers Association, a position that involves organizing programs and supporting younger practitioners in the region. Those ties keep him engaged with continuing legal education and local court personnel.
Today he practices from The Law Offices of David M. White, a firm he founded in 2010. The office handles a steady flow of criminal defense work for clients throughout the area. His practice focuses on criminal defense and related state-court matters.
