About David Minh
David Minh Nguyen trained first as a political scientist and then as a lawyer. He earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Houston in 2003 and completed his J.D. at Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2007. Those years shaped his early interest in how local and federal systems interact.
After law school Nguyen moved into practice that required attention to federal procedure and administrative law. Over time he added appellate work to his portfolio. He has served in volunteer and committee roles that keep him close to developments in federal courts and immigration policy.
Nguyen is admitted to practice in Texas and holds admission to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. His credentials include recognition by the Texas Bar Association as a Lawyer and Counselor of Law and registration with the Supreme Court of the United States as a lawyer and counselor of law.
Professional associations have been a consistent part of his career. He has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2008. He joined the Federal Bar Association in 2018 and serves on its Newsletter Awards Committee. He also lists membership in the body associated with the Supreme Court of the United States beginning in 2018. In 2018 he took on a finance counsel role at St. Matthews the Evangelist, a position that added nonprofit financial oversight to his experience.
Nguyen practices from the Law Office of David Nguyen, PC, and maintains a Southwest office as part of his practice footprint. His work touches both trial-level matters and appeals. He manages files that require filings in federal courts and occasional appearances in appellate settings.
Clients and colleagues describe him as someone who prefers practical solutions over theory. He values clear preparation and relies on procedural competence when cases move into federal courts. He currently practices at the Law Office of David Nguyen, PC, handling immigration matters and federal-court litigation.
