About David Michael
David Michael Roemerman built his legal foundation at New York Law School, where he earned both a J.D. and an LL.M. in financial services. The advanced degree signaled a deliberate turn toward the regulatory and transactional side of finance. He stayed close to that terrain after graduation, applying classroom theory to live deals and compliance programs.
In 2016 he joined Morgan Stanley as a derivatives negotiator and Dodd-Frank compliance lawyer. There he negotiated derivative contracts and advised on bank and broker-dealer obligations created by post-crisis regulation. The role put him at the intersection of market practice and federal rulemaking, where contract language and regulatory interpretation meet the needs of trading desks and risk managers.
A year later he left the institutional setting and launched his own firm. In 2017 he founded Roemerman Law, P.C., establishing a small practice that draws on his experience on both sides of large financial transactions. He handles matters that require an understanding of market documentation, regulatory constraints and commercial risk allocation. His work often involves detailed contract drafting and counseling clients on how regulatory requirements affect day-to-day business choices.
Roemerman is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. His professional affiliations reflect long-standing ties to the local legal community. He has been a member of the New York County Lawyers Association since 2009 and joined the New York State Bar Association in 2013. More recently he became active in the New York City Bar Association and the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce, both beginning in 2017.
Colleagues describe his background as combining transactional skill with regulatory awareness. He has worked inside a major securities firm and now runs a practice that advises clients on documentation and compliance questions born of that experience. He takes on negotiation and advisory matters that require close attention to market standards and legal rules.
Roemerman continues to run Roemerman Law, P.C., where he applies his training in financial services and his experience in derivatives negotiation to client matters. His current practice focuses on transactional work and regulatory counseling in the financial-services area.
