About David Laurence
David Laurence Altman trained first as a political scientist and then as a lawyer. He earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Indiana University–Purdue University at Indianapolis. He continued his studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he received his J.D. in 1969. Those years set the stage for a long career in courtroom practice and client representation.
Shortly after law school, Altman began building a practice grounded in trial work. In 1974 he established the Law Offices of David Altman. The firm grew to operate offices in Utah and California, including locations in St. George and Salt Lake City, as well as a California office.
