About David Joseph
David Joseph Munoz earned his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2008 after beginning legal studies in 2005. He joined the State Bar of California in 2010. His early years in practice coincided with a period of steady professional involvement in San Diego’s legal community.
He helped found Mission Personal Injury Lawyers, P.C. in 2010 and has served as its managing partner since then. The firm’s name reflects the area of law he practices: personal injury. Over more than a decade he has taken on cases on behalf of injured individuals and overseen the firm’s development from a start-up practice to an established plaintiff-side office.
Munoz’s professional life includes a number of organizational roles. He became a member of the San Diego County Bar Association in 2012 and has served as a director in its Young Lawyers Division. He has also held membership in the Consumer Lawyers of San Diego since 2011 and joined its board in 2020. His affiliations extend to trial-focused groups. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and belongs to the Louis M. Welsh American Inn of Court; both memberships date from 2020.
Those associations place him alongside other trial lawyers and consumer advocates in the region. They reflect sustained participation in groups that emphasize courtroom work and peer education. He has balanced practice responsibilities with bar and association activities, taking on leadership duties in the Young Lawyers Division while managing casework at his firm.
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who handles the day-to-day demands of client representation and the administrative responsibilities of running a practice. He prepares cases for trial, engages in pretrial negotiations, and oversees a small team that manages discovery and client communication. He has worked to keep the firm responsive to injured clients and to maintain active involvement in county and statewide legal circles.
Outside of active casework, Munoz’s ongoing membership in local and national organizations gives him access to continuing legal education and trial practice resources. He participates in meetings and events tied to the San Diego legal community. He continues to practice in California and leads Mission Personal Injury Lawyers, P.C. in representing people injured in a range of personal injury matters.
