About David
David Holt started his academic path in engineering. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2010. Three years later he completed his Juris Doctor at William Mitchell College of Law, concluding his formal legal training in 2013.
He moved quickly from graduation into practice. In 2013 he established Holt Law LLC and took on the role of managing lawyer. Over the years he has balanced client work with the daily demands of running a small firm. That combination has required him to handle both legal tasks and the administrative decisions that keep a practice operating.
Before law school Holt’s engineering education shaped his approach to problem solving. The training emphasized data, systems and careful analysis. Those habits of mind appear in how he approaches case assessment and strategy. That technical background also informs his work as a SCORE Certified Mentor, where he advises entrepreneurs and small business owners on practical issues related to starting and growing an enterprise.
His professional life has included membership in several legal and business organizations. He has remained active in local networks and mentoring circles, maintaining professional connections across Minnesota. Those ties have supported referrals, local collaboration and continuing legal education pursuits.
At Holt Law LLC he handles the responsibilities typical of a small firm principal. He meets with clients, prepares filings, negotiates where appropriate and oversees case management. He is the primary contact for the firm’s matters and manages outside relationships with courts and other professionals. The firm is based in Minnesota and serves clients within the state’s jurisdiction.
Holt has combined technical training and legal credentials into a practice that mixes client advocacy with firm leadership. He also contributes time to mentoring through the SCORE Association. The result is a practice that reflects both his engineering background and his legal education.
He currently practices law at Holt Law LLC in Minnesota, where he serves as the firm’s managing lawyer.
