David Douthit built his legal grounding at two Virginia schools. He earned a Bachelor of Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University, completing his studies in 1990. He then attended the University of Virginia School of Law and received his J.D. in 1996.
His early career moved quickly from corporate to private practice. In 2000 he served as in-house counsel for Progressive Insurance Company. That role exposed him to the practical side of insurance work and company decision-making. The following year he joined Allen, Allen, Allen & Allen, P.C. as a lawyer, beginning a long association with the firm’s Richmond presence.
