About David C.
David C. Hardaway earned a B.A. in psychology from the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth in 2005 and went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville in 2008. His undergraduate training in psychology informs how he talks to clients and how he prepares witnesses for court. Law school included both classroom work and practical assignments that pointed him toward public service and courtroom practice.
He began his legal career in public-interest settings. In 2006 he worked as a law clerk for Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, handling client interviews and research tasks. The following year he interned for the City of Dallas, which exposed him to municipal processes and courtroom procedure. After law school he joined Miller & Bicklein as an associate in 2009, where he handled a range of matters and gained time in court. That year he also became a member of the State Bar of Texas. In 2010 he opened his own practice, The Law Office of David C. Hardaway, and has operated it since, taking cases across state courts.
Hardaway was admitted to the Texas bar in 2009 and remains an active licensee. He belongs to several professional organizations that reflect his practice priorities: the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2011, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association since 2012, and the College of the State Bar of Texas since 2013. He is also a member of the Hays County Bar Association and the Texas Young Lawyers Association, and he has held memberships in county bar groups including Williamson and Ector County earlier in his career. Those affiliations keep him connected to developments in criminal law and trial practice.
His work over the years has centered on criminal defense in Texas courts. He handles pretrial work, hearings and courtroom representation for individuals charged in state matters. The early public-service roles he held helped shape how he approaches client communication and case strategy. He balances courtroom preparation with client consultations and filings, managing both routine and contested matters.
Today he leads The Law Office of David C. Hardaway, where his practice concentrates on criminal defense in Texas.
