About Alfonso O
Alfonso O Salazar built an unconventional path to the law. He left home for the Air Force and later returned to classrooms before opening his own practice. That sequence of service, study and private practice informs how he approaches cases.
Salazar earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin, completing the degree in 2012. He continued his legal training at Baylor Law School and received his Juris Doctor in 2017, where he studied criminal law and related subjects. Those academic years included practical work that fed into his early post-law school choices.
Before law school, Salazar served in the United States Air Force as a member of Security Forces beginning in 2008. The role placed him in military police duties and exposed him to incident response and security operations. He has said that the experience shaped how he thinks about evidence, procedure and client counseling in high-pressure situations.
Salazar launched a solo practice immediately after law school in 2017, operating as the Law Office of Alfonso O. Salazar. He spent that period handling a range of criminal matters and building courtroom experience. In 2020 he joined Dunham and Jones, where he continued to try cases and assume a heavier caseload. A year later he became a managing partner at Villanueva, Salazar & Tucker PLLC, taking on leadership responsibilities alongside client work.
Throughout his career Salazar has concentrated on criminal defense. He handles misdemeanor and felony matters, pretrial motions, plea negotiations and jury trials. His background in military policing informs a practical approach to courtroom procedure and evidence handling. Colleagues note he favors direct preparation and clear lines of communication with clients.
