David Bogenschutz is a criminal defense attorney based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, specializing in both state and federal criminal law. He has been practicing law in Florida since 1971, following his graduation from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. After relocating to Florida, he began his legal career at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted many criminal cases, including homicides and misdemeanors. During his tenure, he established the Special Investigation Division and served as Chief Assistant State Attorney. In 1977, David transitioned to criminal defense, joining the firm of Varon and Stahl. He later became a senior partner at Bogenschutz, Dutko & Kroll, P.A., before founding his current practice, J. David Bogenschutz & Associates, P.A., in Fort Lauderdale.
