About David Alan
David Alan Carter built a legal career that began in classrooms and moved quickly into firm rooms and courtrooms. He earned a B.A. in finance from the University of South Florida in 1975 and completed his J.D. at Drake University Law School in 1982. Those academic years set the foundation for a practice shaped by both business concepts and legal training.
Not long after completing law school, Carter became a partner at Neiman, Neiman, Stone & Spellman, P.C. in 1982. The record ties him to that firm in the early stage of his career. He spent the formative years there handling the kinds of matters a mid‑sized firm typically encountered, gaining experience in case preparation, client counseling and courtroom procedure.
Carter later went on to establish his own firm, the Law Offices of David A. Carter, P.A., where he serves as owner. Running his own firm allowed him to shape the practice model and priorities around how he believes legal services should be delivered.
He holds licenses in both Florida and Iowa.
