About Daniel
Daniel Renfro built his legal foundation in the Midwest before establishing his practice in Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Indiana State University in 2003 and went on to complete a Juris Doctor at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2006. Those degrees set the stage for a career that blends courtroom work with court-appointed responsibilities.
After law school, Renfro entered practice in Virginia. He is admitted to practice in that jurisdiction and has developed experience handling matters that require both advocacy and careful attention to procedural detail. Over time he gravitated toward work that places him in the courthouse as well as at the table with clients, opposing counsel and judges.
Renfro serves as a partner at Renfro & Renfro, PLLC, where he combines case management with direct client representation. He is certified by the Virginia State Bar as a guardian ad litem, a role that places him in cases involving children and other parties who need an independent voice in court proceedings. That certification requires knowledge of child welfare law, investigative techniques and the ability to prepare recommendations for judges. His guardian ad litem work has become a consistent part of his docket.
Professional affiliations include membership in the Chesterfield County Bar Association, which he joined in 2018. Within the local bar he participates in discussions about court practice and rules, and he maintains contacts across the bench and bar that assist in managing litigation and court appointments. He also holds other memberships in professional groups.
Colleagues describe him as steady and procedural. He approaches hearings with preparation and an emphasis on clear presentation of facts. He prepares written reports when required and appears in hearings to advocate for the positions reflected in those reports. He balances paperwork and court time, recognizing that each demands a different skill set.
Outside the courtroom, Renfro oversees the business aspects of a small firm. He handles client intake, supervises staff and coordinates with other attorneys when cases require additional specialties. His practice combines duties typical of a small firm partner: litigation work, client counseling and administrative oversight.
He continues to practice at Renfro & Renfro, PLLC, where his current practice focuses on matters handled through the firm, including court-appointed guardian ad litem work and related litigation.
