About Daniel J

Daniel J Goeman built his legal foundation in the Midwest. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Hope College in 1990. He then completed his Juris Doctor at Valparaiso University School of Law in 1996. Those classroom years set the stage for a practice grounded in financial and estate matters.

After law school, Goeman entered the practice of law in the region he knows well. He is admitted to practice in both Michigan and Indiana. Over time he added professional credentials that speak to the technical side of financial planning and probate work. Those credentials deepen the technical toolbox he brings to client matters.

He holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation from the College for Financial Planning. He also has certification through the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Michigan State Bar. The retirement planning credential covers complex retirement vehicles and distribution issues. The probate and estate planning credential signals training in wills, trusts, estate administration and related court procedures.

Goeman works from an office on Chicago Drive. His practice commonly involves preparation of wills and trusts, planning for retirement distributions, and handling probate and estate administration. He advises individuals and families on structuring documents to reflect their choices about wealth transfer and to reduce friction at the time of administration. He also assists with matters that arise after a death, including estate inventories, creditor claims, and court filings required to settle an estate.

Clients encounter practical guidance rather than technical jargon. Conversations tend to center on achievable steps — drafting, updating, and executing documents, and choosing appropriate fiduciaries. When matters proceed to an estate administration, his work includes the necessary filings and coordination with probate courts in the jurisdictions where he is licensed.

Across his career he has combined legal training and financial planning credentials to address the intersections between retirement assets and estate plans. He maintains an office at 10500 Chicago Drive, Suite 75, where he meets with clients and handles ongoing estate and retirement matters. He currently concentrates his practice on estate planning, probate, and retirement planning.
