About Daniel

Daniel Dower made a mid-career turn into law after two decades in finance. He earned his J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2019, adding legal training to earlier business credentials: an MBA from Southern Methodist University (2011) and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas (1995). The mix of degrees shapes how he approaches problems now—practical, business-minded, and attentive to detail.

His early career is rooted in corporate finance. In 1995 he served as chief financial officer at CHI Investment Corporation. By 1999 he had moved into executive leadership as president of Dallas Financial Solutions, Inc. A few years later he became president and chairman of Boo Koo Beverages, LLC. Those roles involved budgeting, corporate governance and operational oversight. They also put him in the middle of deal-making and long-term planning.

Dower returned to the professional spotlight during the 2010s, blending legal training with financial work. He held a portfolio manager role at Texas Elite Advisory in 2017, while also gaining legal experience that year as a law clerk at Burrows Law Group and as a judicial intern for the 158th District Court in Denton County, Texas. Those stints on both the advisory and legal sides gave him exposure to client counseling and courtroom procedure.

After finishing law school in 2019 he joined Burrows Law Group as an attorney in 2020. The sequence from financial officer to law student and then to practicing lawyer is reflected in the kinds of matters he takes on. He brings practical knowledge of corporate operations to legal questions, whether they touch contracts, regulatory compliance or transactional work.

Colleagues describe him as pragmatic. He tends to break complex business problems into manageable legal steps and to prioritize outcomes that make sense for clients’ bottom lines. His background means he can speak both financial and legal languages, and that he is comfortable handling documents, numbers and negotiations in the same matter file.

Dower remains based at Burrows Law Group. He handles matters that bridge corporate practice and financial issues and focuses his current practice on business and financial legal work at the firm.
