About Daniel
Daniel Daly began his legal path after completing a law degree at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 2004. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Stonehill College. That academic foundation led him into courtroom work and public service early in his career.
He entered the legal profession in 2004 as an assistant district lawyer in Suffolk County. A year later he served on the street as a Boston police officer, gaining firsthand experience in policing and public safety. In 2007 he took a position with the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, where he worked on matters that exposed him to a different jurisdictional and institutional environment.
Daly returned to private practice and criminal defense in the years that followed. By 2012 he was practicing under his own name, operating as a criminal defense lawyer. He later joined the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district lawyer in 2014, and then moved into firm practice as an associate at Morrison Mahoney, LLP in 2015. In 2017 he launched Daly Law, P.C., where he serves as founder and principal lawyer.
Those positions reflect work on both sides of the criminal justice system. He has handled prosecution-related tasks as an assistant district lawyer and worked as a defense attorney in private practice. The mix of roles has given him exposure to arraignments, trials, and post-conviction matters in state courts, and the listing of federal admission indicates he is also able to appear in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Daly has maintained professional memberships relevant to criminal and impaired-driving practice. He has been a member of the National College of DUI Defense since 2012 and joined the DUI Defense Lawyers Association in 2020. At the local level he is active in the Hampden County Bar Association and participates in the Hampden County Lawyers for Justice Bar Advocate Program.
Peers and clients have seen him in a range of courtroom settings, from local arraignments to contested hearings. His background as a former police officer adds a practical perspective to case preparation and client counseling. He has practiced in Massachusetts and is admitted in the District of Columbia as well.
He continues to lead Daly Law, P.C., where he represents individuals in criminal cases and handles DUI-related matters as part of his current practice focus.
