About Daniel A.
Daniel A. Herrera graduated from The Catholic University of America in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He continued his legal studies at Lincoln Memorial University’s John J. Duncan, Jr. School of Law, earning his J.D. in 2019. The path from undergraduate politics courses to law school was direct. The shift set the stage for a career in litigation and federal practice.
After law school, Herrera joined Herrera, Reilly & Associates, PLLC as a lawyer-at-law in 2020. He took on responsibilities typical for an early-career attorney at a private practice: drafting pleadings, conducting legal research and assisting on client matters. His role at the firm put him in front of both state and federal procedural questions. Colleagues describe him as methodical; clients see someone who presents legal points plainly.
Herrera holds a LexisNexis Professional Researcher Certification. That credential reflects formal training in the use of major legal research platforms and resources. It has found practical use in brief-writing and motion preparation, where thorough citation and case-finding are essential. The certification complements classroom training from law school and the hands-on experience he accumulated after admission to practice.
He is admitted to practice in Tennessee and before the Federal Circuit. Herrera is a current member of the State Bar of Tennessee. Those memberships enable him to represent clients across trial matters in the state and to pursue appeals that reach the specialized federal appellate forum. Maintaining active bar status has also involved routine reporting and continuing legal education consistent with Tennessee’s professional standards.
At Herrera, Reilly & Associates, PLLC, he remains based in Tennessee and continues to handle matters that arise under state law as well as cases that proceed to federal appellate review. He joined the firm shortly after finishing law school and has been affiliated with it since 2020. Herrera’s practice combines courtroom work, legal research and case management as he represents clients in both trial and appellate settings.
Today he practices through Herrera, Reilly & Associates, PLLC, appearing in Tennessee courts and before the Federal Circuit as the needs of clients require.
