About Dana Jo-Ann

Dana Jo-Ann Richardson built her legal foundation in Pittsburgh. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from Point Park University, graduating in 2002. She remained in the region for law school and received her Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in 2007. Those local academic ties shaped the early direction of her career.

After law school Richardson became involved in the Pennsylvania legal community. She is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and holds memberships in national organizations that concentrate on impaired-driving matters: the National College for DUI Defense and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association. She also belongs to the National Black Lawyers. Those affiliations have kept her connected to both local courtrooms and broader professional networks.

Richardson’s practice centers on cases that involve impaired driving and related criminal charges. She represents clients at arraignments, hearings and trials, and she handles pretrial motions and plea discussions. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing case files and direct in courtroom settings. Her work requires frequent collaboration with investigators, expert witnesses and forensic specialists, and she draws on those relationships when evaluating blood-alcohol reports, breath-test issues and procedures used by law enforcement.

Her courtroom experience extends to jury trials and bench trials. She has handled contested suppression hearings and challenges to field sobriety testing. In other matters she negotiates resolutions when a trial is not in the client’s interest. Richardson’s practice touches constitutional issues that arise during traffic stops and arrests, and she often addresses the technicalities of lab results and evidentiary rules.

Richardson maintains a presence in western Pennsylvania. She sees clients from a Cambria County office and also works from an office in Pittsburgh. Her day-to-day practice involves courtroom appearances across county courts as well as client consultations and case preparation at those two locations. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and continues to handle DUI and criminal-defense matters in the region.

She is active in professional circles that emphasize impaired-driving defense and in local bar activities. Her current practice focuses on DUI defense and related criminal cases in Pennsylvania.
