Dana Jacobson is a attorney based in San Antonio, Texas, with over 40 years of experience in various legal fields, including family law, business law, estate planning, elder law, government and administrative law, and military law. He is the managing partner of The Jacobson Law Firm, P.C., a family-owned firm that has been serving the community since 1985. The firm is located at 6391 De Zavala Rd, Suite 301, San Antonio, TX 78249. Mr. Jacobson earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1985. Following his graduation, he served as a First Lieutenant and judge advocate in the U.S.
Air Force. He held positions such as Chief of Military Justice and Area Defense Counsel at Howard Air Force Base in Panama. He also served as a Circuit Defense Counsel at Randolph Air Force Base and as a Medical Law Consultant at Wilford Hall Medical Center. After leaving active duty in 1991, he became a medical malpractice defense attorney at Thornton, Summers, Biechlin, Dunham and Brown in San Antonio. He remained in the Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps Reserve, retiring with the rank of Colonel in 2016. In 1994, Mr. Jacobson joined his father, Jake Jacobson, as a partner in Hardy Jacobson Gazda & Jacobson, P.C.
In 2001, they rebranded the firm as The Jacobson Law Firm, P.C., continuing their practice until Jake's retirement in 2015. The firm focuses on estate planning, probate, business law, municipal law, and security clearance matters. Mr. Jacobson has been recognized for his contributions to the legal community. He received the 2004 Jim Bowmer Professionalism Award from the College of the State Bar of Texas and was nominated for the 2000 Harmon Award for Reserve Judge Advocate of the Year. He has also been honored with the 10th Air Force Judge Advocate of the Year award and a Third Place finish in the Christian Artists International Songwriting Competition. He is a Fellow of the College of the State Bar of Texas and has served as a faculty member for the Texas Municipal Courts Education Center.
Mr. Jacobson is also a member of the San Antonio Bar Foundation and has been involved with the Reserve Officers Association and the Military Officers Association of America. Fluent in Spanish, Mr. Jacobson is married to Betsy Jacobson, and they have two daughters, Rachel Mangum and Mara Babb, and two grandchildren. In his spare time, he performs regularly around the San Antonio area with a band called On The Side.
