About Cyrus
Cyrus Shaw built a legal path that moves from Philadelphia classrooms to courtroom doors across two states. He speaks plainly about law. He also thinks carefully about procedure and precedent.
He began his academic journey at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a B.A. in 2002. He returned to the Philadelphia area for law school, completing a J.D. at Widener University in 2008. He later pursued an LL.M. at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, adding advanced study to his earlier degrees.
After law school, he entered private practice and eventually founded Shaw Law. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York, and he holds admission to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Those admissions allow him to appear in both state and federal fora on behalf of his clients.
At Shaw Law he manages the firm’s work and client intake. His practice involves preparing filings, appearing in court, and advising clients on procedural and substantive questions. He oversees litigation matters and non-litigation work that require familiarity with state and federal court processes. Colleagues and clients see him as methodical in case preparation and careful in courtroom presentation.
His professional engagement extends beyond his office. He remains a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Philadelphia Bar Association. He participates in the professional community through those memberships and keeps current on developments in the courts where he practices.
Shaw’s experience is anchored in the region where he studied and practices. He trained in Philadelphia and continues to handle matters that arise in Pennsylvania and New York. He also handles federal filings and appearances in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania when a case requires it.
He divides his time between managing the administrative needs of a small firm and the substantive work of representing clients in court and at counsel table. He maintains an office under the Shaw Law name and handles new matters that fall within the jurisdictions where he is admitted. He handles matters in New York and Pennsylvania state and federal courts at Shaw Law.
