About Cynthia

Cynthia Pietrucha practices law in Illinois and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She brings a mix of in-house and public-sector experience to private practice. Her background includes contract work, municipal procurement, licensing, and matters arising from regulatory bodies.

Pietrucha completed undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning a B.A. in 2006 with concentrations in pre-law, journalism and Spanish. She went on to receive her J.D. from Northern Illinois University in 2009. Those academic steps set the stage for a career that alternates between transactional tasks and municipal responsibilities.

Her early post-law-school work included a position as a legal assistant at the Law Offices of Joel Weisman, P.C. In the years that followed she moved into roles centered on contracts and licensing. In 2010 she worked as a site licensing contracts specialist for the American Medical Association. She joined API Healthcare in 2011 as a senior contract administration specialist, handling complex vendor agreements. Those positions grounded her in contract drafting, vendor terms and compliance issues.

Pietrucha later shifted into municipal administration. In 2014 she served as Purchasing Administrator for the Village of Orland Park, overseeing procurement processes and vendor relationships. The next year she launched Pietrucha Law Office, LLC and took on the role of managing lawyer. In 2016 she served on the Liquor Commission for the Village of Downers Grove, a local appointment that involved regulatory review and quasi-judicial decision-making.

Her bar membership includes the Supreme Court of Illinois, and she is admitted to practice in the Seventh Circuit. She maintains ties to professional groups. She has served on the Board of Directors for the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers and holds membership in the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. Her involvement with the Illinois State Bar Association spans more than a decade and includes service on the Labor and Employment Law Section Council for 2023–2024, as well as prior committee work.

Colleagues describe her career as steady and varied, shaped by both private and public sector assignments. At her firm she manages a range of client matters that draw on her contract and municipal experience. Currently she practices through Pietrucha Law Office, LLC, handling contract, licensing and municipal-related legal work.
