About Cynthia
Cynthia Griffin earned her law degree from Creighton University School of Law, completing her J.D. in 2016. She previously graduated from DePaul University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Advertising. Those academic stages shaped a shift from communications into law and provided a foundation for client-centered advocacy.
After law school, Griffin entered the practice of family law. She is licensed to practice in both Nebraska and Colorado. Over the years she has handled a range of domestic relations matters in state courts, representing clients in contested and uncontested cases.
Her work covers traditional litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She assists clients with divorce proceedings, parenting-time and custody arrangements, child support calculations, and property division. She also prepares and negotiates prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and seeks protective orders when clients face domestic violence. Griffin often advises on the practical implications of settlement proposals and court orders, explaining how decisions will affect parental responsibilities and financial obligations over time.
Griffin’s background in public relations informs her approach to client communication. She prioritizes clear explanations and practical next steps. That communication style can help clients understand complex legal rules and feel more confident during proceedings. She also works with financial and mental health professionals when cases require valuation, tax analysis, or custody evaluations.
At Modern Family Law, Griffin represents individuals and families across the firm’s practice area. Her caseload includes both negotiations at the settlement table and appearances in court when agreements cannot be reached. She prepares pleadings, formulates discovery strategies, and argues motions related to custody, support, and asset division. On cases where parties pursue mediation or collaborative law, she helps structure agreements that reflect the clients’ long-term needs.
Clients and colleagues describe her as practical and straightforward. She favors solutions that resolve conflict while protecting clients’ legal rights. Griffin keeps up with developments in family law in both Colorado and Nebraska to ensure advice reflects current statutes and case law.
She maintains memberships in bar and legal associations appropriate to her jurisdictions. Griffin currently practices at Modern Family Law, where she handles family law matters spanning divorce, custody, support, and related financial issues.
