About Cristine
Cristine Beckwith earned a B.A. in business administration from the University of Washington in 2001 and completed her J.D. at Gonzaga University School of Law in 2004. Her academic path combined business training and legal education, a background she has carried into practice.
She began her legal career in 2004 at Pierce County DAC, where she worked as a lawyer. Three years later she opened her own practice. Since 2007 she has operated under the name Cristine Beckwith, Lawyer at Law. Running a solo firm has shaped how she manages cases and communicates with clients; she oversees intake, strategy and court appearances herself.
Beckwith’s professional memberships trace a steady involvement in local and specialized bar groups. She has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 2004. Her affiliation with local organizations includes the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association and the Pierce County Bar Association. She joined the Federal Bar Association’s Western District of Washington chapter in 2007 and has belonged to the Old Town Business and Professional Association since 2011. Since 2010 she has been a member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American Association of Private Practice Lawyers and Lawyers. In 2013 she became a member of the National College for DUI Defense and WWL.
For a period early in her career she was a member of the Washington Defender Association from 2004 until 2007. Her ongoing ties to criminal defense groups and to organizations focused on DUI defense reflect areas she handles regularly in her practice.
Beckwith also contributes to legal education. She serves as a teacher for continuing legal education courses through the Washington State Bar Association. That role keeps her connected to evolving practice issues and courtroom developments.
Clients and colleagues describe a lawyer who prefers clear explanations and steady preparation. She tends to manage cases personally rather than delegate much of the file work. Her courtroom work is supported by the network of local bar associations and national defense groups she has joined over the years.
Today Beckwith practices under her own name, operating Cristine Beckwith, Lawyer at Law. She represents clients in criminal defense and DUI matters and continues to teach WSBA continuing legal education courses as part of her professional activity.
