About Craig L
Craig L McCloud is admitted to practice before Kentucky courts, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He has built a practice that spans trial and appellate dockets. Colleagues describe him as a courtroom advocate who spends equal time preparing briefs and managing litigation strategy.
His involvement in organized bar work began in the early 2010s. In 2013 he joined the American Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association, and served as a barrister with the Central Kentucky Inns of Court. That same year he took on an active role in the ABA Forum on Construction Law youth leadership, serving on the YLD Steering Committee and acting as the Litigation & ADR YLD Liaison. In 2015 he participated in the Kentucky Justice Association. These early roles helped him build a practice informed by both litigation procedure and professional governance.
McCloud’s association memberships reflect steady engagement in defense and litigation communities. He has held membership in DRI – Voice of the Defense Bar and the Kentucky Defense Counsel since 2014. He has continued his ties to the American Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association since 2013, and he is a member of the Fayette County Bar Association. Those affiliations have kept him involved in continuing education, committee work and peer networks, particularly around defense litigation and construction-related disputes.
He maintains offices in the Lexington Financial Center and a Columbia office. His work routinely moves between trial courts and appellate panels, and he appears in federal as well as state venues. The combination of trial experience and appellate admissions allows him to handle cases through multiple stages. He balances courtroom appearances with brief writing and motion practice.
McCloud’s record in professional groups and the courts shows a lawyer who moves comfortably between trial work, appellate advocacy and committee service. He handles matters that require familiarity with construction issues, defense litigation and appellate procedure. He currently directs his practice to civil defense, construction-related disputes and appellate litigation.
