About Courtney

Courtney Stricklen earned her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 2013 after beginning legal studies in 2010. She completed the three-year program while the school continued its long-standing emphasis on practical skills and courtroom preparation. The degree marked the formal start of her legal career and the end of a concentrated period of study in Texas law.

After law school, Stricklen moved into legal practice. She spent the early years of her career handling a range of matters that called for research, drafting and client contact. Those first cases gave her regular exposure to court procedures and case management. She built a steady routine of preparing pleadings, attending hearings and counseling clients on options available under the law.

Her work over the years has involved interaction with judges, opposing counsel and regulatory bodies. She developed a practical approach to case work — breaking complex problems into tasks that could be completed under deadline and budget constraints. Colleagues have noted her attention to procedural detail and her habit of keeping clients informed about next steps. That approach helped her manage matters from initial intake through resolution.

Stricklen’s practice has required both courtroom presence and office-based preparation. She has handled motion practice and discovery, and she has participated in settlement discussions when appropriate. On other occasions she pursued litigation to trial. Her professional life has combined written advocacy and in-person representation in roughly equal measure.

Outside the courtroom, she has continued to refine the administrative side of law practice. File organization, calendaring and client communication figure prominently in her daily work. She has used those systems to keep multiple matters moving at once while meeting court-imposed deadlines and client expectations.

Courtney Stricklen approaches legal problems as composed tasks rather than abstract puzzles. She prefers clear timelines and checklists to open-ended strategies. That method helps clients understand the immediate options before them and the likely sequence of events that follow.

As of 2026 she maintains an active law practice and accepts client matters that align with her professional training and experience.
