About Comm. David S. Weinberg
Comm. David S. Weinberg (Ret.) is a retired judicial officer and attorney based in Costa Mesa, California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1986, holding, and his license remains active. He is the founder of Private Dispute Resolution Services, offering mediation and arbitration services in the Orange County area. His practice primarily focuses on family law, including divorce, child custody, and support matters, as well as juvenile crime diversion programs.
Mr. Weinberg earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles. He then obtained his Juris Doctor from Western State University College of Law. To further enhance his judicial expertise, he completed various courses at the California Judges College, including Family Law and Mediation and Settlement Skills.
Throughout his career, Mr. Weinberg has been involved in numerous family law cases, handling all stages from initial consultations to trials and appeals. He has also been instrumental in juvenile crime diversion programs, serving as Program Chair and Instructor for the Orange County Bar Foundation's SHORTSTOP program from 1986 to 1993. His extensive experience includes serving as a Deputy District Attorney in Orange County, a Superior Court Referee and Commissioner, and as a Pro Tem Judge in Orange County Municipal Courts.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Weinberg has been an active member of the legal community. He served on the Judicial Advisory Board of the Orange County Bar Foundation from 1997 to 2005 and was a Trustee on its Board of Trustees from 1991 to 1996. He has been recognized with several awards, including the Liberty Bell Award and the Award of Merit from the Orange County Bar Association in 1994, and the J.E.T. Rutter Award in 1998 for outstanding contributions to family law.
Mr. Weinberg is fluent in English and Spanish, enabling him to effectively serve a diverse clientele in the Southern California region. His commitment to the community is further demonstrated by his involvement in various non-profit organizations and his role as an adjunct professor at Western State University College of Law.
