About Colin
Colin Bell began his legal path in Canada and finished it in New England. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta in 2001 and a Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law in 2008. The combination of a Canadian undergraduate education and an American law degree shaped an early interest in comparative legal approaches and courtroom practice.
His first public-sector role came in 2009 when he served as a deputy county lawyer at the Cochise County Lawyer s Office. That position put him in front of judges and juries regularly. He handled local prosecutions and gained courtroom experience that would inform his later defense work.
Bell moved into private practice in 2013 when he joined Oswalt Law Group, P.C. There he worked on criminal matters and continued to build trial experience. In 2016 he began working at Stewart Law Group. Over the years his caseload has included a range of criminal matters, and he has handled many cases that required appearances in both state and federal court.
He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and has been active in its Criminal Justice Section since 2013, serving on the Executive Committee. Federal admission followed in 2014 when he secured membership with the United States District Court for the District of Arizona. In 2017 he joined the National College of DUI Defense, aligning himself with attorneys who handle impaired-driving cases.
Community work and volunteer roles are a steady part of his calendar. Since 2014 he has volunteered as a lawyer for United Way Project Connect, offering legal help to community members. From 2015 he has served as a volunteer judge for the Arizona State High School Moot Court Competition, working with students on oral argument and courtroom decorum.
Colin Bell’s practice reflects a blend of courtroom work, professional involvement, and community service. He has continued to participate in bar activities while maintaining a private practice. Peers and clients see him regularly at hearings and trials across Arizona. He remains active in bar sections and professional organizations that intersect with criminal defense and DUI litigation.
He currently practices at Stewart Law Group, concentrating on criminal defense and DUI cases.
