About Cody Malloy
Cody Malloy McCaughan studied business before he turned to law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Central Florida in 2010 and completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Miami School of Law in 2013. Those years on campus shaped his early interests in both transactional work and public-service projects.
His legal career began in clinic and clerk roles. In 2014 he worked as a law clerk for Advancing Real Change. The next year he was a student with the Miami Law Innocence Clinic, an experience that exposed him to post-conviction review and client-centered advocacy. By 2016 he was practicing at Mavrick Law Office, where he handled routine legal matters and gained courtroom exposure.
In 2017 McCaughan took on several roles. He joined Tobin & Associates, P.A. as of counsel and volunteered with Legal Services of Greater Miami. That same year he founded Mac Law Office PLLC. The combination of private practice, pro bono work, and collaboration with other firms gave him a broad view of the Miami legal market and the needs of both individual and commercial clients.
Several professional affiliations reflect the direction of his practice. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association and the Broward County Bar Association, and he belongs to the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the Florida Bar. Since 2019 he has held membership in the North Dade & The Beaches Real Estate Council and served as an agent for the Lawyer’s Title Insurance Fund. He is also a licensed title agent for Old Republic Title Insurance Company and a notary public for the State of Florida.
McCaughan is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and before the Federal Circuit. His background combines transactional work—particularly real property and title matters—with earlier experience in advocacy and clinic settings. He has moved between roles in small firms, volunteer programs, and his own practice, which has shaped how he manages cases and client relationships.
He founded Mac Law Office PLLC in 2017 and continues to practice there. Today his work centers on real property and title matters, along with related transactional issues and civil advocacy handled through his firm.
