Clayton Thomas Robertson is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2003. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Robertson is the principal attorney at the Law Office of Clayton T. Robertson, a firm located in Oakland, California. He has been practicing law for over 18 years, serving clients throughout the state.
Mr. Robertson earned his Juris Doctor degree from the UCLA School of Law in 2003. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance in 1998. During his time at UCLA School of Law, he was recognized as the Best Oral Advocate and Best Brief Writer in the Moot Court program in 2001.
Mr. Robertson concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, civil litigation, and civil rights law. He represents individuals in matters involving misdemeanors, felonies, DUI offenses, domestic violence, and serious and violent crimes. His civil litigation practice includes cases against corporations, insurance companies, police departments, and government entities. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Robertson has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Alameda, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as a Deputy District Attorney and Deputy Public Defender, gaining extensive experience in both prosecution and defense roles.
Mr. Robertson is an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the California Public Defenders Association, and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. He is also a member of the California State Bar. He is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of California effectively.
