About Clarissa
Clarissa Finnell began her path to law in Indiana. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from Indiana University–Bloomington in 1990 and continued at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 1994. The combination of a liberal arts undergraduate degree and legal training in Indianapolis shaped an early interest in public service and problem solving.
Her career has moved between nonprofit and private practice. In 1998 she served as a staff lawyer at the Indianapolis Legal Aid Society, handling matters for clients who otherwise lacked representation. That experience gave her front-line exposure to client counseling and courtroom work. In 2006 she took a senior lawyer role at Cordell & Cordell, where she worked on more complex family law and litigation matters.
Finnell then shifted into firm practice in the late 2000s. She joined Jocham Harden Dimick Jackson as an associate in 2009 and became a partner at Harden Jackson Law in 2011. Those years included case management, courtroom appearances, and supervising more junior attorneys. In 2017 she moved to Schultz & Pogue LLP as of counsel, a role that reflects a blend of advisory and active casework.
She is admitted to practice in Indiana and maintains memberships in several local and national bar organizations. Current memberships include the Indianapolis Bar Association, Hamilton County Bar Association, Indiana State Bar, and the American Bar Association. From 2018 she has been active in collaborative practice circles, joining the Collaborative Solutions Practice Group, Boone County Bar Association, and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Those affiliations indicate a sustained interest in collaborative methods and professional exchange.
Colleagues describe her work as steady and thorough. Her career shows a pattern of movement between legal aid, firm responsibilities, and collaborative practice groups. That mix has given her experience across client types and case settings. She continues to practice at Schultz & Pogue LLP in Indiana, where her work includes collaborative practice and related family law matters.
