About Chuck J

Chuck J Mbadugha earned an LL.M. from The George Washington University Law School, where he concentrated on litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He pursued graduate study after building early experience in corporate and public-sector roles. The advanced degree added a formal study of trial practice and dispute-settlement techniques to an already varied résumé.

Early in his career he worked in legal and community affairs for United Geophysical, a British company, beginning in 1999. That role placed him at the intersection of corporate operations and local stakeholders. He handled community relations and legal matters associated with seismic and geophysical projects, a start that exposed him to regulatory, contractual, and permitting issues across jurisdictions.

In 2006 he moved into public service, joining Montgomery County government in a public safety capacity. The county post involved coordination with local agencies and navigating the regulatory environment that supports public safety programs. That experience broadened his understanding of government processes and dispute resolution at the municipal level.

By 2010 he had established his own practice, taking the principal lawyer role at Chuma Mbadugha Law Offices, LLC. Over the years he has represented clients in matters that draw on his litigation training and his background in community and government affairs. He has handled cases in state and federal arenas and worked on negotiations and settlements arising from commercial, administrative, and local-government disputes.

Mbadugha is admitted to practice in New York, Maryland and the District of Columbia. His certifications list membership in the bars of New York and Maryland. That multi-jurisdictional credentialing has allowed him to serve clients whose matters cross state lines and to appear in different trial and administrative forums.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and practical in pursuing resolution. He combines courtroom experience with work on negotiations and administrative procedures. He often draws on his corporate background when advising clients about contract language and community impact, and on his public-sector experience when handling matters that implicate local rules or safety considerations.

He maintains an office under the name Law Offices of Chuck J. Mbadugha, LLC. He continues to take litigation matters and to work on negotiated resolutions, managing cases that involve commercial disputes, administrative law issues, and alternative dispute resolution procedures. He currently concentrates his practice on civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution at his firm.
