About Omid

Omid Azari earned his law degrees in the mid-2000s and moved into practice soon after. He holds a J.D. from Appalachian School of Law (2009), a Master of Law from the University of Maryland — Baltimore (2005) and a B.S. from the University of Baltimore (2004). Those credentials underpinned a series of early positions in both government and private settings.

His legal training included a mix of public service and private clerking. In 2007 he worked as a law clerk at the Environmental Protection Agency, a role that gave him exposure to federal regulatory work. The following year he served as a law clerk in the Office of the Public Defender, gaining experience on the criminal side of the courthouse. In 2009 he spent time as a law clerk at a Gaithersburg law office before moving into a lead attorney role.

In 2010 he became the lead lawyer at Azari Law, LLC. That move marked a shift from short-term clerkships to running cases and managing client matters. Over the years he has handled the range of tasks typical for a small-firm lead: case strategy, client counseling and courtroom appearances. Colleagues and clients have noted his steady courtroom presence and attention to procedural detail.

Azari’s background gives him familiarity with both state and federal systems. His time at a federal agency offered a window into regulatory and environmental processes. His public defender experience provided hands-on exposure to criminal defense and the stresses of trial preparation. The combination has informed his approach to casework and client communication: practical, methodical and focused on resolving the issues at hand.

Outside of courtrooms and firm meetings, he has continued to maintain professional ties in Maryland. He is licensed to practice in the state and has based his work there since taking the lead role at his firm. His practice has involved managing all aspects of a small law office, including the administrative demands that come with running a practice.

Today he leads Azari Law, LLC and practices law in Maryland. He currently handles client matters through that firm and continues to accept cases in the state.
