About Christy McFaul
Christy McFaul Saunders earned her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1988 after completing undergraduate studies at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in 1985. She attended both schools in Maryland and returned to practice in the state after graduation.
Her early career was in public service. In 1990 she became a Senior Assistant State's Lawyer in Carroll County. She moved to the Frederick County State's Attorney's Office in 1995 as an Assistant State's Lawyer. Those roles put her in courtrooms and behind case preparation for a variety of matters handled by county prosecutors.
Saunders entered private practice in the mid-1990s. In 1996 she became a partner at Ulsch, McFaul Saunders & Wright. Two decades later she reorganized her practice and in 2017 became a partner at The Law Office of Christy McFaul Saunders & Associates, LLC, where she continues to work. Her career spans both government prosecution and private firm practice, giving her experience on both sides of the courtroom.
She is admitted to practice in Maryland and maintains active ties to local bar organizations. She holds membership in the Baltimore County Bar Association and the Frederick County Bar Association. She is also involved in the Baltimore/Carroll chapter of the Women’s Bar Association, participating in the legal community on multiple levels.
Outside of strictly legal work Saunders participates in community and school boards. She serves on the Board of Directors for the YMCA in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania, and is co-chair of the Board of Directors at St. John the Baptist Catholic School. Those roles reflect a long-term interest in local institutions and civic life.
Her record shows steady movement from public prosecution to private partnership and ultimately to running her own firm. She has combined courtroom work for county State's Attorney offices with years in private practice at small and mid-sized firms. Saunders maintains an active law practice based in Maryland. Her current practice focuses on representing clients in Maryland, drawing on experience from both her public-service and private-practice work.
