About Christopher

Christopher Weston built a legal pathway that began in the classroom and moved quickly into active practice. He studied at the University of Alabama, earning two bachelor’s degrees in 2008 — one in clinical psychology and the other in political, moral and reasoning philosophy. He then turned to law, completing his J.D. at Albany Law School in 2011.

After law school, Weston launched a solo practice in 2011 under the name Christopher Weston, Lawyer at Law. That early period gave him hands-on courtroom experience and a chance to run every aspect of a law office. He joined Johnston Moore & Thompson as an associate in 2017, a move that expanded the range of matters he handled and placed him in a larger firm environment.

In 2020 he became a partner at Johnston, Moore & Weston. The promotion marked a shift in responsibility. He began supervising case strategy and mentoring younger lawyers, while continuing to appear in court. He is admitted to the Alabama bar and to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. His Alabama bar membership is listed as beginning in 2012 and remains active.

Weston is an active participant in local and statewide legal circles. He holds membership in the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association and the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He is also a member of The Justinian Society for Excellence in Legal Scholarship. Those associations reflect both geographic ties to northern Alabama and an engagement with criminal defense practice and legal scholarship.

Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who favors direct preparation and steady courtroom presence over spectacle. He handles matters that require litigation in state court and, where applicable, in federal court. His practice includes criminal defense work and related courtroom procedures. He has balanced solo practice realities with the collaborative demands of a partnership, giving him a range of experience in case management and trial preparation.

Weston’s trajectory has been steady: strong academic credentials, early independent practice, then integration into a firm and advancement to partner. He remains based at Johnston, Moore & Weston and continues to represent clients in Alabama state courts and in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. He currently represents clients in criminal defense matters in both state and federal courts.
