Christopher T.L. Brown serves as the Principal and CEO of NorthStar Law Group, P.S., located in Olympia, Washington. With nearly twenty-seven years of legal experience, he specializes in business law, estate planning, and tax law. His firm provides a comprehensive range of services, including business entity formations, domestic and international business transactions, and both federal and state taxation. Additionally, NorthStar Law Group offers expertise in simple and complex estate planning, as well as contract law. Mr. Brown earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Willamette University in 1994.

He continued his education at Willamette University College of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 2000. During his time in law school, he received the High Paper award in Mergers and Acquisitions, highlighting his academic excellence. In pursuit of further specialization, he completed a Master of Laws in Taxation at the University of Washington School of Law in 2001. His educational background laid a strong foundation for his legal career, equipping him with the knowledge necessary to navigate complex legal issues. Admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2000 and the Washington State Bar Association in 2007, Mr. Brown is also authorized to practice before the U.S. Tax Court.

His professional affiliations include membership in the American Bar Association, where he actively participates in the Taxation, Business Law, and International Law sections. His community involvement extends to the South Puget Sound Estate Planning Counsel and the Gateway Rotary, reflecting his commitment to both his profession and local community. Before founding NorthStar Law Group in 2019, Mr. Brown practiced in the business planning and transactional section of HannaStrader, P.C., in Portland, Oregon, from August 2001 to March 2007. Subsequently, he joined Worth Law Group, P.S. in Tumwater, Washington, where he focused on estate planning and business planning from March 2007 to July 2009. At NorthStar Law Group, he advises clients, ranging from small business owners and startups to large corporations.

His services include business formation, growth strategies, and succession planning, whether that involves selling businesses or passing them to heirs. Fluent in Japanese, Mr. Brown has cultivated a particular interest in international law. He has provided legal assistance to several solar technology companies concerning tax and corporate law matters, as well as sell-side transaction planning. His expertise has also been sought by a major utility on Washington state tax issues related to wind and hydro projects. Through his experience and specialized knowledge, Mr. Brown continues to make significant contributions to the legal field and the clients he serves.
