About Ryan Anton
Ryan Anton Jacobsen built a legal path that began in the classroom and moved quickly into courtrooms. He earned his J.D. from Chapman University Fowler School of Law in 2005 after completing a B.A. in Political Science at the University of Utah in 2001. Those years set a foundation for both practice and teaching that appears throughout his career.
He entered the legal world as a judicial law clerk at the Orange County Superior Court in 2006. The next year he worked as a research assistant at Chapman’s Family Violence Clinic and as a litigation assistant in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Those early roles exposed him to courtroom procedure and client-facing work, and they informed his approach to practice after passing bar requirements.
By 2009 Jacobsen was practicing under his own name and also worked at Peterson, Oliver & Poll. He took on multiple roles that year, which included running a private law office that carried his name. In 2011 he joined Taylor Law Group, P.S., and in 2012 he opened Jacobsen Law Office, PS. His time in different firms and his own practice reflect a mix of litigation and counsel work developed over more than a decade.
Alongside practice, Jacobsen has taught. He served as an adjunct professor at Taft Law School beginning in 2009, and later as an adjunct instructor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2011. Students would have encountered a practitioner who could bring courtroom anecdotes to classroom discussion and who balanced teaching with active casework.
He is licensed in California and Washington and holds bar memberships reflected by State Bar of California number 258465 and Washington State Bar Association number 43336. He was admitted to the California bar in 2008 and to the Washington bar in 2010. Jacobsen is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington and is a member of the Thurston County Bar Association.
Today he practices from Jacobsen Law Office, PS. His career traces a steady movement from clerkships and clinic work into litigation and private practice. He currently maintains an active practice handling litigation and related matters in Washington and California.
