About Christopher
Christopher Light trained as a lawyer after completing undergraduate study in political science and history. He earned a B.A. from Colorado State University in 2006 and later took his law degree from California Western School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2009. Those academic years set the stage for courtroom work. They also anchored his move into public defense and trial practice.
He began his career at the Colorado State Public Defender in 2010. There he handled detained clients and argued cases in trial settings. The role gave him regular experience in contested hearings and jury trials. It was an early proving ground for courtroom procedure and client advocacy.
In 2015 he left public service and opened Light Law, P.C., a small practice built around trial litigation. As founder he managed both casework and the business aspects of running a firm. That period broadened his exposure to different kinds of criminal matters and to managing a caseload through all stages of proceedings.
Two years later he joined Light & Miller, LLP as a partner and trial lawyer. The move expanded his platform. At Light & Miller he continued to try cases and to advise clients in jurisdictions where he is licensed. He holds licenses in both Colorado and California and has handled matters in courts in those states. His courtroom work includes bench and jury trials, pretrial litigation, and appellate preparation tied to trial records.
Colleagues describe Light as a lawyer who relies on courtroom experience rather than on rhetoric. He mixes courtroom tactics with attention to case detail. He has an orientation toward contested hearings and trial litigation, shaped by years in the public defender office and by running his own firm. In private practice he has taken that background into partnership work, balancing individual client representation with firm responsibilities.
He continues to practice at Light & Miller, LLP. He is based at the firm's office and handles criminal defense and trial matters in both California and Colorado.
