About Christopher
Christopher Jones earned a J.D. from Charleston School of Law in 2010 after completing a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion at Presbyterian College in 2007. He began his legal career immediately after law school, taking a clerkship with the Honorable Michael G. Nettles in the South Carolina Judicial Department in 2010. The clerkship exposed him to trial-level procedures and the practical mechanics of courtroom work.
After the clerkship, Jones moved into prosecutorial roles across several circuits. He served as an Assistant Solicitor in the 4th Circuit in 2011, then in the 16th Circuit in 2013, and later in the 13th Circuit in 2015. Those years in the solicitor’s offices involved traditional prosecutorial duties and regular courtroom appearances. The work gave him sustained trial experience and a familiarity with state court practice in South Carolina.
In 2018 he opened his own practice under the name Christopher L Jones, Lawyer at Law, LLC. The firm represents individuals in criminal matters and related proceedings. Running a small practice has added responsibilities beyond trial work. He handles client intake, case strategy, and the administrative tasks of firm management.
Jones maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and the Greenville County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also holds membership in the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National College for DUI Defense. Those affiliations keep him connected to colleagues who practice criminal and DUI defense across the state and nationally.
His career path reflects time on both sides of the courtroom. That background informs how he prepares cases and advises clients. He draws on prosecutorial experience when evaluating evidence and assessing plea offers. He also uses defense practice to test and counter the state’s positions at hearings and trials.
Jones is licensed to practice law in South Carolina and continues to work in private practice. He represents clients in criminal and DUI matters at the state level and handles related court proceedings. He currently concentrates his practice on criminal defense and DUI cases.
