About Christopher
Christopher Jones built a path to the courtroom that began in classrooms. He earned a B.A. in history from James Madison University and went on to receive a J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2002. Before law school, he spent time teaching world history at Grafton High School, an early job that shaped his comfort speaking to groups and explaining complex material simply.
Early legal work for Jones included internships and clinic placements while he was a student. He served as a summer legal intern at Dominion Virginia Power and worked at the University of Richmond Mental Disabilities Law Clinic. He also interned with GE Financial Assurance. Those positions introduced him to both transactional and public-interest law and gave him hands-on experience before he entered practice full time.
Jones’s public-sector career took form at the Office of the Commonwealth’s Lawyer in Richmond. He served as a Supervising Senior Assistant Commonwealth’s Lawyer in 2003 and again in 2007. Those roles placed him in a prosecutorial office where he handled case preparation and courtroom responsibilities. Between those stints he worked as a trial lawyer in private practice at Johnson Jones, LLP in 2005, moving between public prosecution and private litigation work.
By 2015 he was listed as a lawyer at Allen, Allen, Allen, & Allen, P.C. Across positions he developed trial experience and courtroom routine. The record shows extended time overseeing prosecutions and conducting trials, alongside periods in private practice where he carried out litigation tasks. That mix of public and private work is reflected in the organizations he joined: the Richmond Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Old Dominion Bar Association.
Colleagues describe Jones as straightforward in court and practical in preparation. He is comfortable handling the work that leads up to trial: discovery, motion practice, witness preparation and jury presentations. His background in education and clinical work informed a methodical approach to fact development and to explaining legal issues to judges and juries.
Jones is licensed to practice in Virginia and has balanced roles across the public and private sectors. He continues to apply his trial experience in his legal work, practicing in Virginia with an emphasis on courtroom litigation and matters that arise from prosecutorial practice.
