About Christopher J.

Christopher J. Tyrpak built his legal foundation at two schools in western New York. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Canisius College in 2004. He went on to receive his J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2008.

After law school he entered private practice in New York. Over time he gained admissions to both state and federal courts. He is licensed to practice in New York and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York, as well as the Bankruptcy Court for that district.

His work spans matters that proceed in state court and those that require federal filings. He handles litigation and contested matters that arise in bankruptcy proceedings. He also manages related transactional and advisory tasks that often accompany insolvency and restructuring issues. His cases have required filings and hearings at multiple levels of the court system in the Western District of New York.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and attentive to procedural detail. He prepares pleadings, motions, and briefs and moves cases through pretrial and hearing stages. He draws on his dual undergraduate training in economics and political science when assessing complex financial issues and regulatory questions that surface in litigation and bankruptcy work.

He maintains current membership in professional associations and participates in the local legal community. That involvement keeps him connected to evolving practice standards and to peers who handle complementary aspects of commercial and insolvency law. He has built a practice grounded in the practical mechanics of litigation and court procedure.

Outside the courtroom he has contributed to case strategy and client counseling that require a steady application of statutory and case law. He balances courtroom duties and advisory work, and tailors his approach to the needs of each matter. He works in matters that often demand careful documentation, strict compliance with filing deadlines, and strategic negotiation.

Tyrpak continues to practice in New York and in the federal courts that serve the Western District. He concentrates his current practice on litigation and bankruptcy matters in those jurisdictions.
