About Christopher J.
Christopher J. Pitera built his legal foundation at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he earned a B.A. in political science in 2008. He went on to law school at Liberty University, completing his J.D. in 2011. After several years in practice he added a certificate from the National Trial Advocacy College in 2015, a program that emphasizes courtroom technique and practical trial work.
Pitera began his career in private practice as an associate at RTJ Law Group in 2011. That role introduced him to litigation and client representation. In 2013 he moved into public service as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Virginia Attorney General. The post offered exposure to government litigation and complex civil matters over the course of his tenure.
Since 2016 Pitera has worked at Cannella & O Neal as a personal injury lawyer. His resume reflects a steady progression from associate to public-sector litigator and then to an attorney concentrating on injury claims. He maintains active memberships in the Virginia State Bar since 2011 and in state and national trial organizations, including the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
Training in trial advocacy figures in Pitera’s practice profile. The National Trial Advocacy College certificate indicates dedicated time spent developing skills in evidence presentation, witness examination and jury persuasion. Those skills are a logical fit for courtroom work, and they inform how he approaches disputes that proceed past settlement talks.
Colleagues and clients describe a lawyer who blends trial preparation with experience from both the public and private sides of civil litigation. His admissions include the Commonwealth of Virginia and the U.S. Supreme Court. He continues to participate in professional associations relevant to trial practice and civil litigation. Pitera currently practices at Cannella & O Neal, representing clients in personal injury matters.
