About Christopher J.
Christopher J. Martin built the foundations of his legal career in Washington, D.C., where he earned his Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law in 2012. He entered law school after an undergraduate period that prepared him for practice, and finished his formal legal education in 2012. That credential set the stage for a steady climb through the Maryland legal community.
He began practicing in the courthouse as a law clerk in 2012 for the 7th Judicial Circuit of Maryland. The clerkship exposed him to courtroom procedure, opinion drafting and the pace of judicial decision-making. A year later he took an of-counsel role at a private firm, where he worked alongside experienced trial lawyers and learned the demands of client representation in a small firm setting.
In 2014 Martin struck out on his own and founded The Law Offices of Christopher J. Martin, LLC. The move tested his skills beyond casework. He handled client development, firm administration and the daily decisions that come with running a solo practice. Those years sharpened his judgment about when to litigate and when to seek alternatives outside the courtroom.
An associate post followed in 2016 at Altman & Associates. There he returned to a firm structure and contributed to larger matters while refining his litigation and strategy skills. Two years later he reshaped his practice once again, forming The C. J. Martin Law Group and taking the title of principal in 2018. That transition placed him in charge of a team and the direction of a small firm operating in Maryland.
Across those roles Martin has moved between public and private practice, solo work and firm leadership. He has experience in court, in firm offices and in managing the business side of legal practice. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his preparation and direct in courtroom settings. Clients have encountered a lawyer who prioritizes clarity and practical options over legal jargon.
Martin maintains active ties to the Maryland legal community through memberships in local associations and regular interaction with judges and other lawyers. He continues to base his practice in Maryland. He currently focuses his practice at The C. J. Martin Law Group in Maryland.
