About Christopher

Christopher Hennessey built a legal foundation in the study of history and law. He earned both a J.D. and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1999. Earlier, he completed undergraduate coursework at Tulane University, where he read history.

After law school, Hennessey established a practice that spans state and federal courts. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and New Hampshire. He also holds admission to the First and Second U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal. Courtroom work includes an appearance in the Connecticut Appellate Court in 2007, a point in his résumé that reflects appellate experience alongside trial and transactional matters.

Hennessey's bar membership in Massachusetts dates back to 2002, and he remains an active member of the Massachusetts bar. That long-standing connection to the state bar has informed much of his regional practice. He has handled disputes that touch on intellectual property questions as well as broader commercial conflicts across the Northeast.

Intellectual property sits at the center of Hennessey’s formal training. The LL.M. he pursued immediately after his J.D. sharpened his exposure to patents, trademarks and the legal mechanisms that govern innovation. Over the years his portfolio has included patent-related litigation, trademark counseling and IP issues that arise in technology and consumer products disputes. He has combined that subject-matter work with appearances in appellate settings and federal courts, reflecting a willingness to take matters beyond initial filings when a case required further review.

Colleagues describe Hennessey as practical and methodical. He tends to break complex problems into manageable pieces and to present arguments in a straightforward way. Clients who face contested intellectual property claims or commercial litigation draw on that pragmatic approach when they need courtroom representation or strategic advice on how to move a dispute forward.

He practices at Cohen Kinne Valicenti & Cook LLP. In that setting he continues to handle both litigation and counseling matters, often where intellectual property questions intersect with business disputes. His work remains rooted in appellate and federal practice as well as state-court litigation, reflecting a career that blends technical IP training with courtroom experience.

His current practice covers intellectual property and related litigation matters.
