About Christopher
Christopher Fedalei trained in Columbia and built a steady progression through public defense into private practice. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina in Political Science and Philosophy, earning a B.S. in 2012. He also holds a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, conferred in 2012.
Fedalei began his legal career in public service. In 2017 he served as an assistant public defender in the Office of the 8th Circuit Public Defender. The following year he joined the Office of the 13th Circuit Public Defender as an assistant public defender. Those roles placed him in regular contact with trial work and courtroom proceedings across South Carolina’s state courts.
After several years in public defense, Fedalei moved into private practice. In 2021 he became a partner at Touma & Fedalei LLP. The partnership signaled a transition from government advocacy to client-side representation in a firm setting. Colleagues and records show he handled a range of matters typical for attorneys who move from public defense into private practice, including pretrial litigation and courtroom advocacy.
In 2022 he took on a leadership role as managing partner at FR Law LLC. That position expanded his responsibilities to include firm management and case oversight, while continuing client representation. His work since taking that role has combined courtroom tasks with administrative duties required to run a small firm.
Fedalei is a current member of the South Carolina Bar. His practical experience spans public defense and private litigation, and that background informs how he approaches cases. Former public defenders often bring courtroom familiarity and an emphasis on procedural defense; Fedalei’s resume reflects several years of such practice before shifting to private-sector roles.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and direct in courtroom settings. He has navigated the move from circuit public defender offices into partnership and firm leadership. He maintains an active practice in South Carolina, where he continues to represent clients and supervise litigation matters. His current practice centers on litigation and criminal defense work in state courts.
