About Christopher
Christopher Crull built a winding path into the law. He earned a J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in 2015. Earlier studies include an M.A. in Philosophy from Kent State University and a B.S. in English, Philosophy and Anthropology from Ball State University. Those degrees set a foundation in critical thinking and communication that shows up in his professional life.
His career began long before law school. He served in the United States Navy as an E-5 operations specialist. That enlisted service shaped how he approaches routine and pressure. After returning to civilian life he moved into academic work. In 2016 he took a post at his alma mater as Assistant Director of Academic Success Programs at the University of Akron School of Law. There he worked with students on study strategies and bar preparation, and he supervised programs designed to improve academic outcomes.
Crull shifted into private practice later in the decade. He joined Owings Law, LLC as an associate in 2019. The following year he became a co-owner of Heydorn & Crull, LLC. That move marked a transition from employee to firm leadership. Alongside his private practice work, he took on a volunteer role in 2020 as a board member for Warriors Journey Home, an organization focused on veterans’ needs.
He is active in the local bar community. Crull has been a member of the Akron Bar Association since 2015. He joined the Ohio State Bar Association in 2020 and remains a current member. These memberships connect him with other lawyers in the region and provide access to continuing legal education and professional resources.
Colleagues describe his style as methodical and straightforward. He brings an academic sensibility—sharpened by graduate study in philosophy—to case analysis. His work at the law school gave him experience explaining complex material to others, a skill that carries into client meetings and courtroom preparation.
Today he practices law in Ohio and maintains his practice through Heydorn & Crull, LLC. He balances firm responsibilities with pro bono and volunteer commitments in the community. He currently practices in Ohio through Heydorn & Crull, LLC, representing clients in matters handled by the firm.
