About Christopher
Christopher Beall earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Yale University before turning to law. He received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 1997. That combination of liberal arts and legal training shaped a career that has moved between private practice, teaching and public service.
After law school Beall served as a law clerk to Judge David M. Ebel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He entered private practice soon after and became a partner at Faegre & Benson LLP in 1998. Those early years established his footing in appellate and complex civil work and gave him exposure to multidistrict litigation and appellate procedure.
Beall later joined Levine Sullivan Koch & Schulz LLP as a partner in 2007. That same year he took on a role as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver, teaching law students and sharing practical courtroom and appellate experience. He moved again in 2016, joining Fox Rothschild LLP as a partner where he continued handling high-stakes matters for institutional clients.
His career also turned toward public law. In 2019 Beall served in the Colorado Lawyer General’s Office as a deputy lawyer general, taking on responsibilities that included advising state agencies and representing the state in contested matters. In 2021 he was appointed Deputy Secretary of State in the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office, a role that placed him in the center of election administration, regulatory oversight and filings management during a period of heightened attention to state election systems.
Those shifts between firm rooms and government offices left him with a broad practical toolkit. His background reflects appellate experience from the federal clerkship, firm-side litigation at multiple large firms, classroom teaching and hands-on regulatory work in state government. Colleagues describe him as methodical and precise in written advocacy and steady under pressure in oral argument. He has worked on matters that touch on administrative law, regulatory compliance and complex civil disputes.
Beall is admitted to practice in New York and Colorado. He divides his professional time among private practice, occasional teaching and government service, and he currently practices in Colorado and New York, concentrating on government and appellate matters.
