About Christine L.

Christine L. Crilley built a legal career that moves between the courtroom and the conference table. She studied at the University of Northern Iowa, earning a B.A. in 1979, and completed her law degree at the University of Iowa, receiving a J.D. in 1983. Those years set the stage for a practice centered on family law and dispute resolution.

Early in her career Crilley gravitated toward cases that require both legal judgment and practical problem-solving. Over time she developed a practice that balances litigation skills with alternative dispute resolution methods. She is principal of Crilley Law Offices PLLC, where clients find an attorney who regularly handles divorce, custody matters and related family-law issues.

Mediation and collaborative law have been central features of Crilley’s work. She is a certified mediator through the Iowa Association of Mediators and sits on the Iowa 6th Judicial District roster of mediators. Her training extends beyond practice; she is an Advanced Practitioner with the Association for Conflict Resolution and is a nationally approved mediation trainer. Those credentials allow her to both mediate cases and teach other professionals how to lead mediated processes.

Crilley’s involvement in collaborative practice is long-standing. She holds memberships in the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Collaborative Lawyers of Eastern Iowa. Locally she participates in the Linn County Bar Association. She also takes on leadership roles in organizations that support family-focused dispute resolution; she serves as president of Parenting Coordinators of Eastern Iowa, a group that works on the intersection of parenting plans and conflict management.

Colleagues and clients see Crilley work across different roles: advocate in contested hearings, mediator in negotiated settlements and parenting coordinator when ongoing disputes require managed communication. She has combined formal credentials with hands-on experience to offer options beyond traditional litigation. She trains mediators and contributes to local networks that promote collaborative approaches.

She practices from the Crilley Law Offices & Mediation Center and maintains an active presence in Iowa’s legal community. Her current practice centers on family law, mediation and parent coordination.
